So just how can sex improve your overall heath?
It helps you sleep better
No matter what your medical problem is, it’s almost a guarantee that doctors will suggest you get your recommended sleep to help ward it off. Doctors have found that the hormones released during an orgasm are actually a powerful sleep aid for the people having them!
Sex makes you look younger– Really!
A British neuropsychologist named David Weeks conducted a study at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital over a 10-year span that involved 3,500 adults. He found that out of the participants, the ones who had more sex during the 10 years aged much less than the ones who weren’t getting laid. Dr. Weeks says that having intercourse releases a human growth hormone to your body which is a crucial aid in preserving youthful skin.
Having sex lets you live longer
The British Medical Journal published findings in 2007 from an Irish study showing that the mortality rate of middle-aged people was 50% lower in individuals who had frequent sex. A quickie for an extra year of living? Sounds like a good deal to us!
Sex protects you against cancer
Well sex protects men from cancer, at least. Multiple studies over the years have found that men who ejaculate frequently have a decreased chance of getting prostate cancer. The National Cancer Institute did a study with nearly 30,000 men to find out how sexually active they were between the ages of 20 and 49 and found that the men who claimed they had at least 21 orgasms a month had a lower cancer rate than those who had less than 21. Doctors think this is because the ejaculate can clear the prostate of carcinogenic embodiments which helps decrease harmful substances in the body that trigger cancer.
It keeps your heart healthy
Heart disease was the biggest killer of women in the United States in 2011, but that number could have been reduced if women did the dirty a little more often. The American Journal of Cardiology found that people who have sex at least twice weekly lower their risk of cardiovascular disease.
Next time someone is hesitant to get it on, share your knowledge on the benefits of sex and get them in bed so you can keep them out of the doctors!
