Here goes... My Philsophy of Life (Chasing my bliss, experiencing the top level of Maslow's Heiarchy, etc...) In psychology "optimal experience" is described as flow, "the mental state of operation in which the person is fully immersed in what he or she is doing, characterized by a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity." That's a scientific (read as cold) way to say that experience is the point of life. That thing which we pursue to give our life meaning. I guess what experience we pursue depends on each of us. To find self-fulfillment, we have to recognize our needs and desires and chase them. Personally, I've never found an experience more thrilling, more rewarding, or more fulfilling than the that of knowing another person as fully and completely as possible. You know, that feeling you get in your tummy when you're sitting across the table from someone you're inexorably drawn to? The flushed and excited feeling you get from looking into their eyes and getting lost there, wondering where the night will lead? Wondering what will follow from that night? You can spend a lifetime soaking up that experience, floored at every contact, lost in anticipation between every meeting...If you're looking for an experience that leaves you reeling, unable to reconcile it with anything else you know, you might be looking for me...
