About Me: I have been unconventional in my pursuit of a career. My interests and vision have taken me to amazing places geographically, intellectually and spiritually. I am a dreamer with the passion and persistence to make those dreams a reality. I am founder and Chairman of the Board of a 10 year old non profit organization that provides affordable housing for low income families. We developed programs and services to assist residents and the surrounding community in moving from welfare to work. They include fully subsidized childcare, job training-placement and retention, life skills, drug/alcohol counseling, transportation, medical clinics for adults, well-babe clinics and various programs for pre-school and school age babes to enhance their success in school. We now have 2950 apartment units in 5 states. Prior to this venture, I created another non-profit organization that developed 47 childcare centers in OH, IN, TX, MO, KY, and OK. We worked with inner city groups, churches, corporations and neighborhood groups and developed them on a fee basis. In addition to these endeavors, I pioneered 3 private schools in California , and took them from a vision to reality. The largest one had 760 students on opening day.
