About Me: So, am I yet another person waking up and joining the commute every weekday morning and heading for the gym each night? Well, technically, yes, but at heart that's not true at all. I spent all that time in philosophy class convincing myself that the self does in fact exist and, the years go by and I'm punching a corporate clock every day. Well, at least I don't have to wear a tie to work. But the day job is generally a means to an end, right? Outside of that, there's always love for music, film, art, theater, cooking, eating, writing, reading, brewing, drinking, talking, chatting, joking, gossiping. Most anything is fun if done correctly. Lessee...what are the main things that take up my time? Other than the day job, which I swear I take pretty seriously, I tend to keep my nose in good novels and good books about writing (novels and screenplays). I set ambitious goals at the gym, and generally succeed in the weight room. Cardio, meh. Zzzzz. Gotta work on that. Generally see 10-12 movies a month. I truly love all kinds of movies, as long as there's something new and different about them--even if it's just an unprecedentedly bad movie. Day hikes around the sound soak up a lot of weekends. I'm interested enough in sports to enjoy most any game I flip on, and I follow the local teams. But I rarely attend games and (except when Husky football is on) would always rather do something other than watch the game. By far the biggest thing for me the last couple years has been brewing--cooking up my own extreme styles with buddies, and chasing down and tasting rare and distinguished beers from all over the world. Fair warning...get me talking about this and it's like the mummy's curse: there's a good chance you'll never escape.
