About Me: “Almost Interesting” is a very confident (I guess), self-assured (I think) individual. I’d like to meet a woman who shares some of my interests but not a carbon copy of myself (how boring would that be?).. Fortunately, men with a sense of humor are in great demand on this site and I, apparently, have the ability to amuse others. When I speak in social situations people always laugh – and roll their eyes. Sometimes they walk away shaking their heads in an effort, I suppose, to regain their composure. I’ve always enjoyed the ocean. Most of the women on this site “love the beach”! Could this be a problem? How can we have intimate, soul- searching conversations if I’m in the water, body surfing, and you’re on the beach reading a book? And is it really the beach you love? Would people sit on hot sand under a blistering sun if the ocean weren’t there? If so, why isn’t the Sahara Desert packed with people - on beach chairs - shelling out 2 dollars for 75 cent popsicles? And why am I questioning the wisdom of a site full of women whose attention I’m trying to attract? How smart can I be? In a single paragraph I’ve alienated the beach crowd and been dismissed by every women searching for someone with half a brain. I've traveled some and plan for more. I've no fear (shame) about trying to communicate with people in their native tongue despite often looking foolish in the attempt. I’ve set goals for myself in this regard but my progress has been uneven. (I’ve gotten much better at making a fool of myself but my Italian language skills are pathetic.) Yet, with patience, one can communicate with most “foreigners”. The British, whose language I just can’t comprehend, excluded. But "all's well that ends well" and when these contacts conclude, people always laugh – and roll their eyes. Sometimes they walk away shaking their heads in an effort, I suppose, to regain their composure.
