About Me: My name is Michael Madere I am 22 years old and I live in Amarillo Texas. When I was 14 years old Ive gotten into a lot of trouble. I was getting arrested almost everyday and got put on probation in St.Charles Parish Louisiana. At the age of 15 I moved to Idaho to live with my sister so I could get out of trouble well that did work for a little while but I ended up stealing from a convenience store and stealing money from a persons debit card. Yet again I had gotten arrested but this time I ended up doing a little time in then got flown back to Louisiana to be put on probation yet once again. Well while I was on probation the September 11th event happened and I started calling Army recruiters because I didnt like what had happened. Well at that time I wasnt serious about joining but I still kept finding out info about the Army. My father and I had gotten into a big argument and I will never forget these words that he had told me Michael if you don't get a job you are out of this house. Thats when I told my dad to give me the phone. I picked it up and called the recruiter I had been talking to and told him in front of my dad that I wanted in the Army. My dad sat there on the couch in shock. I then dropped out of high school to get my GED. After I had gotten my GED I was off to take the ASVAB test. Well I passed the test and they asked me when did I want to go I told them "As soon as possible. Well March 10th 0f 2004 I went off to basic training. After 16 grueling weeks I graduated and I felt a since of pride and when i saw my dad he started crying because he was actually proud of me once again. Well 1 Year went by and all was good. I was doing good and soldiering up. Then October came by and that was when I fucked up again. I was at a party with the wrong crowd and fucked up by taking some ecstasy. Well that very next day I popped hot on the piss test and was scheduled to get kicked out. December 05, 2005 I was fully discharged.
